TELEVISION IN MENDOZA

Politti jumped into television as both an actor and director as soon as it was inaugurated in Mendoza. A new world was waiting to be created. “In no time at all, I had come up with this great character: Don Julio Pérez Etcétera, an old retired and widowed Spanish man whose only friend was a little bird. I went from being an actor known and respected only in certain circles to a famous actor known by all. But when someone outside of Buenos Aires, from one of the provinces, goes out on a limb with his or her own act, the criticism can be brutal. They thought I was some guy just out to goof off.” Pleasure and work fused together for Politti at that point as he experimented with all the angles of a vocation that had already been clearly defined. Politti was Father Severino in “Si cada uno de nosotros” and starred in and directed the tele-theater production of “Historia de gordos,” the successful series “Boliche” and the political satire “El señor ministro.” The latter he would also air on the radio.
